For this particular experiment, we will be focusing on the growth and development of Flemish Giants. To see this entire process from beginning to end, please follow the posts with this (above) title, which will be numbered.
WEEK 11: Not a whole lot to report this week. Weights are continuing to gradually increase, and decisions have been made to split all of the condo's into 2-3 sections each. This allows plenty of space for each of our 'children', while not giving them so much space that its constant battle to try to 'over-feed' them, to keep weight on them. However, we have decided that the order in which they will be split will be dependant upon if its for does or bucks. As we will give the does half-a-condo, and bucks 1/3rd sections. This will allow for the does to have more space for them and their babies, when they have babies - without having to stress them out by moving them to other condo's when they have litters.
Next week, our son -the human kind- is getting married!!! So our time will be much more limited, and probably not a lot will be done on this project. However, we still have about 4-5 more pens that need cleaned out and reno'ed, Condo-style. So, as time permits, we'll be working on that... because - from the looks of things right now, we will be having about 10 new Flemish guests coming to live here for a while, to help a friend out. (Pretty exciting news!!)
